HR Solutions is proud to support local fund raising efforts
for some of the Countries leading good causes.
Managing Director, Trevor Richards completed the Peterborough half marathon on 11 October 2009, in a time of 3 hours 42 minutes, whilst at the same time raising several hundred pounds for the “Help for Heroes” charity which supports servicemen and women injured in Afghanistan. Over 3000 people took part in this event many raising funds for a range of different charities. After the event Trevor said “I’m delighted to have completed the race in one piece. It was never my intention to set records, I’ll leave that to the athletes, but I have raised money through generous sponsorship for a very good cause”. Trevor was sponsored by many different people including employees of clients and would like to thank them all, with a special mention to Smart Wealth Asset Management, Chadwick Design and Total Promotions for their corporate support.
If anyone would like to be a sponsor and make a donation you can still do so by visiting: www.justgiving.com/trevorrichards
The pictures show Trevor with his daughter Francesca, together with Karen Mawson & Teresa Deo who work for one of Trevor’s clients just before the race and Trevor & Francesca after the race complete with medals!

On a recent trip to South Africa to watch the British & Irish Lions play the Springboks of South Africa, Managing Director Trevor Richards had the opportunity to visit the Soweto Rugby Club in Johannesburg and donate much needed rugby kit and to provide modest sponsorship to the club.
The Soweto Rugby Club offers young people in the Soweto district of Johannesburg a chance to become involved in the sport of rugby which can give them self confidence, discipline and an alternative to resorting to crime which is sadly at a worryingly high level in the city.
Trevor said, “I am a keen rugby supporter and I know just what young people can get out of being involved in the sport. This is doubly important for those who live in an area such as Soweto. It was very humbling to see how my small donation was accepted by the club and seen to be of great importance to the development of both club and players.”
The picture shows Trevor Richards handing over rugby kit to an official of the Soweto Rugby Club.
A former colleague of our Managing Director Trevor Richards; Major Martyn Bird RMP successfully took part in the Atacama Desert Challenge in Chile in mid August 2007. This is a gruelling 250km race where competitors must carry all their personal equipment across the most arid desert in the world at an altitude of over 1 mile. Major Bird was raising money for Cancer Research and for the Royal Military Police Benevolent Fund.
The pictures below show Major Bird during the race and crossing the finishing line.

Susan Dunbar (second from right) an employee of one of our clients ran a leg of the Edinburgh marathon in support of Kidney Research which is a cause very dear to Susan who has a close family member who unfortunately suffers from a kidney related illness

The

one of our clients just prior to setting off to walk 26 miles through
London on the "Playtex Moonwalk" to raise money for Breast Cancer
Research.

“Research into the causes and treatment of epilepsy has come a long way in the recent past but there is still much to do in this area. Epilepsy Action supports this research and offers practical help to those living with the condition. Richards HR Solutions is proud to be a supporter of this very worth while cause”.

Being
a former serviceman Trevor Richards our Managing Director is also
a long time supporter of the Royal Military Police Association, the Royal British Legion and the Northern
Ireland Veterans Association.
